This week we decided to list out some of our favourite cyber security quotes. Some may well ‘blow your mind’, whilst others may merely brighten up your day. Whatever the end result, if nothing else we hope you’ll think about security in a slightly different way!
Bruce Schneier: “Data is the pollution problem of the information age, and protecting privacy is the environmental challenge.”
Bruce Schneier: “If you think technology can solve your security problems, then you don’t understand the problems and you don’t understand the technology.”
Mike Danseglio: “Phishing is a major problem because there really is no patch for human stupidity.”
Ted Schlein: “There are only two different types of companies in the world: those that have been breached and know it and those that have been breached and don’t know it.”
Abhijit Naskar: “The only way to maintain privacy on the internet is to not be on the internet.”
Richard Clarke: “If you spend more on coffee than on IT security, you will be hacked. What’s more, you deserve to be hacked.”
Unknown: “Someone cracked my password. Now I need to rename my puppy.”
Anonymous: “Toughen up then cupcake, the Prince of Nigeria is sad too; no one falls for his emails anymore.”
Chris Pirillo: “Passwords are like underwear. Don’t let people see it, change it very often, and you shouldn’t share it with strangers.”
Andrew Heller: “Technology is like a fish. The longer it stays on the shelf, then the less desirable it becomes.”
What did you make of these cyber security quotes? Is your mind blown? Your day suitably brightened? If you have any that you think are better, then we would love you to send them in!
We’ll return to some more serious fare next week, when we look at Data Protection Officer as a service in greater depth – don’t miss out…!
